In light of the multiple opportunities that it offers, the Russian market proves to be one of the most interesting for Italian and foreign enterprises and investors.

The Desk operates in various sectors, including protection of industrial and intellectual property, direct and indirect foreign investment in the Russian Federation, drafting and negotiating international contracts and issues connected to customs law.

Recent representative matters include:

• we are frequently instructed by Italian companies to assist them in commercial disputes with Russian companies especially with regard to IP protection debt collection;
• we have assisted Russian and Italian SMEs in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (including agency and distribution agreements) in several product sectors;
• we have provided legal assistance within business missions organized by Regional Representations of the Russian Federation;
• we have acted for the debt collection of Italian enterprises in Russia;
• we have delivered legal advice on the purchase of travel agencies by a Russian investor;
• we have delivered legal advice to Russian investors in establishing an Italian start-up active in the biomedical sector.

The lawyers of the Russia Desk also take part in training courses on Russian law addressed to the staff of Italian businesses who intend to operate in the Russian Federation.

Andrea Piras coordinates the activities of the Desk and advises companies operating on the Russian and on the Italian market thanks to his education in Russian law and his knowledge of Russian language and culture.
