On 14 June 2019 a study meeting ‒that is being accredited for continuing education purposes‒ will take place in Hamburg on Hot Topics in Private International Law. The event is organized by the Private International Law Commission of the Union Internationale des Avocats and by the Hamburg Association of Certified Specialists in International Business Law, and it will take place at the Law Firm Brödermann Jahn, ABC-Straße 15, starting at 4 p.m.

The discussion will be chaired by the president of the UIA Private International Law Commission, Paolo Lombardi, jointly with the president of the UIA Transport Law Commission, Olaf Hartenstein.

There will be eight kick-off speeches on hot topics ranging e.g. from hard law versus soft law; influence of the dispute resolution regime and competent courts or arbitration tribunals; issues of comparative mandatory law etc.. A vivid discussion among experts will then follow.

Alberto Pasino will hold a presentation on “Transport Dispute Resolution and Brexit”.
