Alberto Pasino will be one of the speakers of the 59th World Congress of the UIA, which will bring together in Valencia over a thousand lawyers from more than seventy countries, from 28 October to 1 November.

Alberto Pasino will attend the session, organized by the Transport Law Commission dedicated to “Limitation of Liability”, which will take place on 30 October, starting at 3.00 p.m., at the Palacio de Congresos. During the seminar speakers will discuss the theoretical legitimation of such concept, its functioning and its practical consequences, e.g. in major events of damage. Pasino will start the seminar with a report on “The Legitimacy of the Concept of Global Limitation”.

The following morning the seminar organized by the Private International Law Commission on “Forum Selection Clauses in International Contracts” will take place at the same venue. During the seminar speakers will discuss the trends in different legal systems as to choice of forum clauses, and will provide an overview of the significant changes recently introduced by the Hague Convention on Choice of Court Agreements, together with its interaction with the recast of Brussels I Regulation.

Alberto Pasino will give a presentation on “Validity requirements of jurisdiction clauses in bills of lading”.
